Fiskarhedens Trävaru AB is a family company located on the River Västerdal, slightly south of the winter resort Sälen. The sawmill was built beside the river to allow high quality raw timber to be floated down from the valley. The relatively nutrient-poor soil and the local climate produce a strong timber of the finest quality. Its slow growth and small branches make the timber strong and extremely durable. The refined raw material, with its distinctive colour and structure, is ideal for furniture and jonery. Because of these factors, our FISKAR timber is in great demand, and is exported all over the world.
